Day 1, Thursday: Istanbul
Meet at the airport Transfer to your hotel. You will be given your room key and the rest of the day is yours to explore Istanbul. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 2, Friday: Istanbul (B,L)
We depart from the hotel at 08:30 am for an Istanbul City Tour. First we see the Topkapi Palace, home of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries. The palace houses an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain. see the robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, and the Holy Mantle; which enshrines relics of the Prophet Mohammed.
Next on the list is the Sultanahmet Imperial Mosque,which was built in the 16th century. It is known as the Blue Mosque because of the blue Iznik tiles that decorate the interior. Outside the Blue Mosque we find the ancient Hippodrome, the scene of chariot races and outdoor entertainment. The Hippodrome is comprised of three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. After a short lunch break we head to the Grand Spice Bazaar for shopping. After the shopping tour come back to Hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 3, Saturday: Istanbul – Bosphorus Cruise – Cappadocia (B, L, D)
After breakfast depart for Bosphorus Cruise tour. Enjoy a magical Istanbul Bosphorus Cruise and Spice Market Tour starting at 08:30. Enjoy the array of sites you can see from the boat including the Spice Bazaar and a Bosphorus boat excursion along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. After lunch at a Turkish restaurant, we depart for Istanbul airport for a domestic flight to Cappadocia. Transfer from the airport and check in to your hotel in Cappadocia. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 4, Sunday – Cappadocia Underground City & Goreme Open Air Museum (B, L, D)
At 9:30 am we drive to Ozkonak Underground City, one of the best preserved underground cities in Cappadocia. Next we take a visit to Uchisar Castle, the highest point of Cappadocia. After Uchisar, we will visit the Goreme Open Air Museum, famous for frescoes dating to 10th century describing the life of Jesus and the monks from the area.
The next stop is Cavusin, which is an abandoned village with old cave Greek houses. After lunch in a restaurant in Avanos, we visit a pottery workshop. The next stop is the three headed fairy chimneys in Pasabagi. From Pasabagi we journey to view some Cappadocian hand woven carpets before traveling to the Devrent Valley, where you can see natural rock formations looking like animals. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 5, Monday: Cappadocia – Istanbul (B)
After breakfast you will have free time in Cappadocia. Today we depart for Kayseri Airport for our domestic flight
to Istanbul and then back to home.
