Day 1 Saturday BUCHAREST
Independent arrival at Bucharest airport and transfer to your hotel and check-in. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and accommodation in Bucharest.s. 

Day 2 Sunday BUCHAREST – CURTEA DE ARGES – SIBIU
After breakfast panoramic sightseeing tour of Bucharest, then departure to Curtea de Arges, former capital of Wallachia. Visit the Episcopal Church where the Romanian Kings are buried. Lunch en route. Drive along the picturesque Olt Valley to Cozia Monastery (visit) and Sibiu, one of the oldest towns in Transylvania – formerly Hermannstadt – founded by the Saxon colonists. Guided walking tour of the medieval town (the Main Square, the Evangelical Church, the Liars’ Bridge etc.). Dinner and accommodation in Sibiu.

Day 3 Monday SIBIU – VALEA VIILOR – SIGHIȘOARA
Morning drive to the heart of Transylvania to visit the secret retreat for royalties of Europe. The Saxon villages display a remarkable, unspoiled harmony between people and landscape. This trip is like a visit back in time. Drive to Valea Viilor to visit the impressive fortified church a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue  on to Sighisoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler (“Dracula”). Visit the medieval citadel (the “Upper Town”) to admire the Clock Tower, the Church on the Hill etc. and the we have lunch. Dinner and overnight is in Sighisoara.

Day 4 Tuesday SIGHISOARA – SUCEVITA
After breakfast, we continue to Târgu Mures for a visit to the elegant city centre renowned  for its architecture. Nest we drive on to Bistrita, one of the 7 main medieval towns of Transylvania. We continue through Tihuta Pass for a traditional dinner and accommodation in Sucevita.

Day 5 Wed. SUCEVITA – MONASTERIES – PIATRA NEAMȚ
Full day in Bucovina – land of the unique painted monasteries belonging to the UNESCO World Heritage. Visit the Moldovita and Sucevita monasteries with their intricate inside and outside frescoes. Lunch en route, then visit the famous monastery of Voronet, “the Sistine Chapel of the Orient”. Late afternoon drive south to visit the Agapia monastery. Dinner and accommodation is in Piatra Neamt.

Day 6 Thursday PIATRA NEAMȚ – BRAȘOV  – POIANA BRASOV
Today we depart across the mountains to Brasov through the spectacular Bicaz Gorges – the Red Lake – Miercurea Ciuc. Lunch en route. Visit the beautiful fortified church of Prejmer. Late afternoon arrival in Brasov founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1211. The town still has its preserved its medieval atmosphere.  Continue on to nearby Poiana Brasov, a ski and a summer mountain resort famous for its attractive vistas and pine forests. Check-in into the hotel. Dinner in a typical restaurant. Accommodation.

Romania tourDay 7 Friday BRASOV – BRAN – BUCHAREST
Departure to Bran for a visit to “Dracula’s Castle”. Drive across the mountains to Sinaia. Lunch. Visit the Sinaia Monastery (1695) and the fabulous Peles Castle – former summer residence of the Royal family. Late afternoon drive to Bucharest. Upon arrival visit the outdoor Village Museum. Walking tour in the old city center and farewell dinner in a typical restaurant. Accommodation.

Day 8 Saturday BUCHAREST
In the morning free time in central Bucharest for visits and shopping (subject to the flight schedule) and transfer to the airport. End of our services.
