Eastern Europe is one of the last hidden surprises for travelers looking for Old World destinations. The wild shady forests of the mythical Carpathians are dark and mysterious. The local folk costumes and traditions are among the best preserved in the world. The citadels and fortified peasant churches, from the middle ages, can scarcely to be found in other countries.
