Romantic Road & Royal Castles - Independent tour

days/3 nights
DAY 1: Frankfurt -
Heidelberg - Frankfurt
Start your tour with a regular diversified half-day trip to Heidelberg, the old
university town at the banks of Neckar- River, including a visit of the inner
courtyard of Heidelberg Castle and a lunchbox. After returning to Frankfurt, the
rest of the day is free for own activities. Overnight at
InterCityHotel or similar.
DAY 2: Frankfurt - Rothenburg (B)
Depart from Frankfurt for a picturesque drive through the Spessart mountains to
Wuerzburg, on the banks of the river Main. Continue on the Romantic Road to
Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany’s well-preserved “Jewel of the Middle Ages”
with its ramparts, city gates, town hall and
Jakobskirche (church) with an altar by the famous woodcarver Tilman
Riemenschneider. Upon arrival in Rothenburg, a taxi will take you to your hotel.
In the afternoon or evening please join the city walk with a local guide or the
historic Night Watchman in Rothenburg. Overnight at Hotel Spitzweg or similar.
DAY 3: Rothenburg - Hohenschwangau (B)
After breakfast, a taxi will meet you at your hotel and take you to the bus
stop. Your coach drives along the Romantic Road passing such picturesque places
as Dinkelsbuehl and Noerdlingen, with high-gabled houses and cobbled-stone
streets. Via Augsburg, a metropolis during the Roman times and famous for old
trade dynasties during the Middle Ages, you reach Hohenschwangau in the evening.
Overnight at Hotel Mueller or similar.
DAY 4: Hohenschwangau - Munich (B)
In the morning you receive your tickets for Neuschwanstein Castle at the front
desk of your hotel and visit the famous “Cinderella Castle”, built by King
Ludwig II. In the late afternoon you proceed to Munich, where tour ends at
approx. 7:00 p.m.!
***Reverse itinerary: Tour ends in Frankfurt in the afternoon.

center of Frankfurt. It can easily be reached by S-Bahn (city train) from the
airport, and to the main shopping district and the theaters of Frankfurt it is
only a few steps or a short ride by underground. A public transport pass for
Frankfurt and to the airport area is included in the price of your overnight
stay and valid for the length of your stay. The hotel provides a nice restaurant
and a bar. All rooms are very quiet and have bath or shower/WC, telephone,
